Sju tunga amerikanska förläggare skriver
ett öppet brev om Saudiarabiens hatiska
och fördomsfulla läroböcker.
Anledningen är att Saudiarabien med hjälp
av en donation på 20 miljoner $ fått UNESCO
att börja arbeta för "ways to ensure that
content aimed at students systematically
reflects cultural and religious diversity
and avoids gender stereotypes".
Det betyder i verkligheten att de islamistiska
staterna vill ha UNESCO:s stöd i att rensa ut
sådant som demokrati, religions- och yttrande-
frihet och kamp mot antisemitism ur Väster-
landets läroböcker. Däremot är de totalt ointres-
serade av att ta bort den mängd av hat och för-
domar som den muslimska världens läroböcker
hyser....

Några exempel från Saudiarabien:
"A ninth-grade textbook published by the
Ministry of Education states, “The Jews
and the Christians are enemies of the
believers, and they cannot approve of
Muslims.” An eighth-grade textbook says,
“The Apes are the people of the Sabbath,
the Jews; and the Swine are the infidels
of the communion of Jesus, the Christians.”
These are just two examples of a long list
of hate-filled passages.
Children who are indoctrinated with such
hatred are susceptible to engage in bigotry
and even violence. Hate speech is the pre-
cursor to genocide. First you get to hate
and then you kill. This makes peaceful
coexistence difficult, if not impossible."
