An Arab terrorist shot and murdered an Israeli man in his 30s and wounded three others at one of the entrances to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City on Sunday morning. The terrorist was shot and neutralized by Israeli forces.

Aryeh Yaffe, a volunteer doctor with the United Hatzalah emergency organization who was one of the first responders at the scene, said that one person was critically injured, another is in moderate condition and conscious, and another two sustained light injuries, The critically injured victim, Eliyahu David Kay, a 26-year-old new immigrant from South Africa, succumbed to his wounds shortly after the attack.

Hadassah hospital stated that it received three of the casualties from the attack, a 46 years-old man moderately injured and conscious, a 30-year old man in light condition, and a third 31-year-old in light condition

Jewish visitors on the Temple Mount were rushed away from the holy site.

The police stated that around 9 a.m., a terrorist armed with a Carlo-type submachine gun carried out a shooting attack in the Old City.

As a result of the shooting attack, two civilians were seriously injured and were evacuated for medical treatment at the hospital, and two other policemen were lightly injured. Police returned fire at the terrorist and neutralized him.

Jerusalem District Commander  Doron Turgeman arrived at the scene. Large police forces continued to operate at the scene of the attack.

An initial investigation indicates that the terrorist was dressed as an ultra-Orthodox Jew.

The terrorist, who was shot dead at the scene was identified as Fadi Abu Shahidam, a resident of the Shuafat refugee camp in his 40s, affiliated with Hamas.

Minister of Internal Security Omer Barlev stated that the terrorist was a member of Hamas, a member of its political faction. His wife left the country three days ago, and his children are also abroad.

“It seems that an attack was planned. His wife fled abroad and he decided to carry it out,” said Barlev.

Hamas praised the attack, saying that “the holy city will continue to fight until it expels the foreign occupier and will not succumb to the reality of the occupation. The young people will continue their legitimate struggle until they achieve their freedom, their land is liberated and the holy places are returned to them.”

The Islamic Jihad also welcomed the lethal attack as “a heroic attack” that is “a natural response to the escalation of terrorism by Israeli settlers and soldiers living in delusions.”

This is the second terror attack in the area in less than a week.

Two Israeli police officers, a man and a woman, were wounded in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem’s Old City on Wednesday evening. The terrorist was by killed Israeli forces.

"Europa måste enas mot islamismen"

Europe must stand united against all extremism: Hamas, Hezbollah & Muslim Brotherhood

As the COVID-19 vaccine arrives and European leaders turn their focus again to the national security and future prosperity of our peoples, a fracture is appearing. Europe has suffered two Islamist militant attacks over the past ten days. France and Austria are responding with vigour, but where is the European Union? Where is Britain?

Read more: Austria police raid dozens of Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas-linked targets: Prosecutors

President Emmanuel Macron’s speech and interventions for upholding the values of the French Republic were second to none. His government followed up with action by closing mosques and organizations with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and many of its affiliates and offshoots.

Austria has followed in a similar move against the Brotherhood and others.

Again and again, France and Austria have made clear that political Islamism is not Islam. The danger is not from the elderly Muslim gentleman with a beautiful beard, nor the lady who wishes to cover her hair out of religious observation.

Religious conservatism is not a national security concern. The threat can come from a clean-shaven, suit-wearing, smart-talking Islamist activist. This danger of political Islamism is not about appearance, but a sophisticated and suave ideological enemy who hides behind false claims of representing ‘the community.’

To target Islamists and their narrative, as France and Austria have done, is not racist or Islamophobic. Just as targeting Nazis is not anti-German, identifying Islamists and their support for terrorism, is not anti-Muslim.

Read more: Three leaders with same catastrophic mindset

From this basic conviction, we build policies to advance the interests of Europe. For we must learn to put Europe’s Enlightenment values ahead of any project, Islamist or otherwise, that seeks to undo the progress of our forefathers. In this, we must remember that millions of Muslims gave their support and lives from Algeria, Morocco, India, Arabia, Egypt, to protect civilization in two world wars.

Why are Islamists a danger to Europe today? Because the very foundations of European society and prosperity are under direct assault from an ideology and a narrative that only becomes violent because it seeks to end the nation state, remove secular governments, deprive women of their rights, destroy Israel and kill Jews, execute gay people, and force innocent Muslims to live under Islamist rule.

From Osama bin Laden to ISIS, the violent jihadists are all graduates of the Muslim Brotherhood.

As these extremists flee the Middle East, they now find shelter and asylum, finances and television platforms, across European capitals. Muslims in the Middle East are not Islamophobic or racist when identifying Islamists as a national security concern. Europe does not tolerate Nazis or fascists: it should now stop appeasing Islamists.

Why is open support for Hamas and Hezbollah allowed in European cities? Why were there vast crowds in London gathering to mourn the elimination of Iran’s top terror mastermind, Qassem Soleimani?

If Europe’s politicians do not respond with unison and success, far-right political parties will. Across the continent, neo-Nazism is on the rise in reaction to Islamist terrorism. If our political leaders are too timid to defend civilization, let them at least work hard to keep the political parties and majorities in tact for government.

There is, however, some good news. Charles Michel, who heads up the European Council, has vowed to ‘fight the ideology of hatred’ by training imams. That is a welcome development, but Monsieur Michel and his 27 heads of state on the Council should not forget that most Islamist terrorists are recruited from or are active on websites, prisons, and educational establishments with links to the Muslim Brotherhood and its anti-West narrative.

Turning off the Islamist mood music played by the Muslim Brotherhood will stop the dance that is jihadist terrorism.

Senior Fatah figures have recently often represented the “popular resistance” [i.e., popular terrorism] as an important response to an Israeli annexation of territories. Senior Fatah figure Jibril Rajoub was interviewed by the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese al-Mayadeen TV channel. According to Rajoub the “popular resistance” is carried out peacefully (a baseless allegation) and has gained international legitimacy. However, in principle does not reject the alternative of “armed resistance” (i.e., institutionalized military terrorism). Relating to the issue in careful terms, he said that in the event of an annexation, [Fatah] would meet to decide the option of “armed resistance” (for the main points of the interview see Appendix A). In addition, Fatah spokesman Usama al-Qawasmeh said that currently Fatah was in constant contact with Hamas to advance a plan of escalation of the “popular resistance,” as had been carried out in the first intifada.
  • Senior Hamas figures, among them Isma’il Haniyeh, head of Hamas’ political bureau, also discussed the “popular resistance.” However, there were two important differences between Hamas and Fatah. According to Hamas, agreeing to “Fatah’s program of popular resistance” did not mean abandoning “armed resistance,” which is Hamas’ preferred strategy. In addition, according to Haniyeh the objective of all forms of the “resistance” is not only to prevent Israel from annexing territories and Trump from carrying out the “deal of the century,” it is the destruction of the State of Israel (“the liberation of all Palestine from the [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] Sea”) (for further information see Appendix B). Khaled Mashaal, former head of Hamas’ political bureau, called for a comprehensive exploitation of the “popular resistance” and a variety of activities in the West Bank to exhaust Israel: ramming attacks, the erection of “solidarity tents” in the Jordan Valley and territories Israel annexes and confrontations with IDF soldiers.

Hamas hatvideo: "Knivhugg fler judar"
Jerusalem idag: Tredje Intifadans terror

Abbas palatsprojekt i Surda beräknades gå lös på 13 miljoner US dollar.

"A leaked report produced by analysts at Israel’s Ministry of Intelligence urges the government to annex occupied territories in the West Bank as soon as possible, in case Donald Trump loses the upcoming United States presidential elections in November. The report advises the Israeli government that it “should not expect” a widespread outbreak of violence in the streets. It also forecasts that “a wave of diplomatic protests” will gradually give its place to acceptance, as “the international system acclimates itself to annexation”.

The report was leaked to Israel Hayom, a rightwing publication, which is currently Israel’s most widely read newspaper. It discusses the so-called Netanyahu Annexation Plan, which was first unveiled by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on September 10, 2019, just days before Israel’s legislative elections. It proposes the annexation by Israel of several Israeli settlements in the Occupied Territories, which are viewed as illegal by the United Nations. The plan has been condemned by the United Nations and many Western countries, but has the approval of the White House.

Palestinian groups and several Arab countries have warned Israel that there will be serious consequences if it proceeds with the proposed annexation. But the Intelligence Ministry report, authored at the request of the Intelligence Services Minister Eli Cohen, claims that these warnings should not worry the Israeli government. A possible annexation of the Israeli settlements will cause some demonstrations throughout the Arab World, it says, but it won’t substantially “rouse the Arab street” against Arab governments. This, it claims, “will make it clear to Arab leaders that the Palestinian issue is not a threat” to their political survival.

The report goes further, suggesting that an aggressive move by Israel may bring Arab governments closer to it, once Arab leaders realize that the annexation of Palestinian lands by the Jewish state will not prompt major reactions among their citizens. Additionally, it suggests that the timing for the annexation works in Israel’s favor, as the Palestinian Authority, which controls the West Bank, has been substantially weakened by its disagreement with the White House. Additionally, it says, Hamas “lacks appetite for another round of fighting” and most Palestinians are “mostly concerned with the troubles of day-to-day-life”. Other countries are mostly preoccupied with the coronavirus pandemic, and the Arab public outside Palestine has “more pressing concerns at home”, the report opines.

In its concluding section, the report appears to dismiss the conventional thinking that the annexation of the settlements will destroy even the remotest possibility of a peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians. It report argues that “after a period in which the international system acclimates itself to the annexation”, the Palestinians and their supporters in the region will be compelled “to return to peace talks”, and even seek “solutions and arrangements that aren’t affixed to the 1967 lines and primarily territorial aspects”. In its concluding section, the report suggests that the Israeli government would have more to gain by proceeding with the annexation as soon as possible, rather than waiting, because it is “impossible to know how the US presidential election in November will unfold”.

**
With Iranian-backed Islamic terror groups threatening the Jewish state on both its southern and northern borders, the IDF released a new plan to confront efforts to attack Israel.

The IDF unveiled its new five-year plan of operations, with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi stressing that Israel’s primary strategic threat remains Iranian entrenchment near its borders and its efforts to develop precision missiles with which to attack the Jewish state.
Kochavi added, “At the heart of [security threats to Israel is] the entrenchment of Iranian and other forces in Syria and the precision missile project. In both situations, this is an Iranian-led effort, using the territory of countries with extremely weak governments,” reported Ynet.
In his comments, Kochavi also referred to activities by both the Hamas terror group in Gaza and the Iranian proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon.

With regard to Lebanon, Kochavi commented that Hezbollah holds the country hostage and dictates its “security policy.”
Key features of the new operational plan, code-named “Momentum,” include massive investments in the IDF’s military capabilities, such as beefing up Israel’s mid-sized drone fleet, acquiring large numbers of precision-guided missiles from the U.S., and obtaining more air defense batteries, reported Times of Israel.

Under the plan, IDF training exercises will shift focus to urban combat, as opposed to open fields, which are the traditional venues for military exercises. These drills will simulate fighting in cities and towns, according to the Times, where the IDF believes future conflicts could take place.

While the plan officially goes into effect at the beginning of 2020, the Finance Ministry had yet to approve expenditures to pay for the costly initiative. The spending required for the Momentum Plan represents a significant increase compared to the IDF’s previous five-year strategy, the Gideon Plan.

The underlying philosophy driving the Momentum Plan is that Israel must decisively gain victory in any future conflict as rapidly as possible to prevent Hezbollah from launching a large-scale strike on the Jewish state.
On a practical level, this means being able to strike targets immediately to take out weapons and military assets that could be used to harm Israelis.

Israeli warplanes on Friday struck some 100 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip after terrorists in Gaza launched rockets on Tel Aviv and Israeli communities in the south.
By Associated Press and World Israel News Staff

After striking over 100 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday, the Israeli army announced its targets had included a Gaza City building used to plan and command Hamas terror activities, an underground complex that served as Hamas’ main rocket-manufacturing site, and a center used for Hamas drone development.
There were no reports of casualties in Gaza.

The Israeli strikes were part of a retaliatory operation after terrorists in Gaza launched a late-night rocket attack on Tel Aviv, Israel’s densely populated commercial and cultural capital, marking a dramatic escalation in hostilities.
In total, Palestinian terrorists fired two rockets at Tel Aviv and nine rockets at Israeli communities along the Gaza border, with Israel’s Iron Dome intercepting seven of these rockets and the others falling in areas away from civilians. No Israelis were injured in the attacks.
It was the first time Tel Aviv had been targeted since a 2014 war between Israel and the Hamas terror group.

Hamas denied responsibility for the initial rocket attack, saying it went against Palestinian interests. But after a preliminary investigation, Israel said it had concluded that the militant group was behind the attack.
Following the Israeli airstrike, several additional rounds of rocket fire were launched into Israel.
The fighting broke out as Egyptian mediators were in Gaza trying to convince the terror group to agree to an expanded cease-fire deal.
Israel and Hamas are bitter enemies and have fought three wars since the Islamic terror organization seized power n a bloody 2007 coup in Gaza from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party. Smaller flare-ups have occurred sporadically since Israel and Hamas fought their last war, in 2014.
The sudden outburst of fighting comes at a sensitive time for both sides. Israel is holding national elections in less than a month. Netanyahu is locked in a tight fight for re-election and could face heavy criticism from his opponents if he is seen as ineffective against the terror threat.

Cabinet Minister Naftali Bennett, a rival of Netanyahu’s, called on the prime minister to convene a gathering of his Security Cabinet and demand the army “present a plan to defeat Hamas.”

Likewise, Hamas has come under rare public criticism in Gaza for the harsh conditions in the territory. An Israeli-Egyptian blockade, combined with sanctions by the rival Palestinian Authority and mismanagement by the Hamas government, have fueled an economic crisis in the territory.

Residents have little desire for another war with Israel.
Earlier Thursday, Hamas police violently broke up a protest over the harsh living conditions.

Israel holds Hamas responsible for all fire coming out of the territory. Financed by Iran, Hamas possesses a large arsenal of rockets and missiles capable of striking deep inside Israel.
Hamas denied responsibility for the attack on Tel Aviv, saying the rockets were launched when the group’s military wing was meeting with the Egyptian mediators.
In an unusual step that indicated Hamas was attempting to prevent further escalation, the Hamas Interior Ministry said the rocket fire went “against the national consensus” and promised to take action against the perpetrators.

But Israel’s military concluded that Hamas was responsible. In a statement early Friday, the army said “we can confirm” that Hamas carried out the rocket attack.

Times of Israel skrev nu på morgonen:

A senior army official warned Thursday morning that Israel was nearing a full-blown military confrontation in the Gaza Strip after hundreds of rockets were launched overnight by Palestinian terror groups, adding that the government could begin evacuating communities near the coastal enclave in preparation.

“We are rapidly nearing a confrontation,” the IDF senior officer said, speaking on condition of anonymity. “Hamas is making serious mistakes, and we may have to make it clear after four years that this path doesn’t yield any results for it and isn’t worth it.”

According to IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, at least seven people in total were injured in southern Israel by the Gaza rocket attacks, including a woman who was seriously injured when a projectile struck her home in the Eshkol region of southern Israel.

In response to the attacks, the Israeli army said, it struck over 140 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip overnight.

The military said its raids targeted training compounds as well as weapons-manufacturing facilities and storage warehouses. The air force also targeted sites from which rockets were being launched, including a car that the army said was being used by a cell of terrorists. One Hamas operative was reportedly killed in the airstrike. Unconfirmed reports claimed he was the relative of a senior Hamas commander.
