the gas chambers of Auschwitz."

there were two contributory factors in

German policy preventing immigration

into Palestine: First, the pact signed

between the Nazis and certain Arab

leaders, headed by the Mufti;

and second, the desire to complete

the extermination of all the Jews

within the area of German influence

without leaving any remnant.

vid Nürnbergrättegången:
As a leader of the Jewish Rescue and Relief
Committee in Budapest, I requested the
competent German authorities to grant
the emigration to Palestine of a group
of Hungarian Jews.
In the course of these negotiations, which
are the subject of my testimony deposed
in the minutes of the Nuremberg trial, the
high Gestapo official Eichmann declared
he would be willing to recommend the
emigration of a group of 1,681 Hungarian
Jews, on condition that the group should
not go to Palestine.

“They may go to any country but Palestine,”
I was told by Eichmann, who, as leader of
the Department IV.B. of the Reichssicherheits-
haupant, was personally responsible for
the deportation and extermination of the
European Jews. At first, his argument for
his negative attitude towards the emigration
to Palestine was that he did not want to rouse
the Arabs against the Reich. At last he said to
me literally: “I am a personal friend of the
Grand Mufti. We have promised him that
no European Jew would enter Palestine
any more. Do you understand now?”

Haj Amin al-Husseini avslöjade i den
trängre nazistiska vänkretsen att han

tänkte bygga ett koncentrationsläger

enligt tysk modell i Nablus för att

Recent Nazi documents uncovered in

the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

indicated that in the event of the British

being defeated in Egypt by Field Marshal

Erwin Rommel's Afrika Korps the Nazis

had planned to deploy a special unit

called Einsatzkommando Ägypten

to exterminate Palestinian Jews and that

they wanted Arab support to prevent

the emergence of a Jewish state.

These records indicate that, "the most

important collaborator with the Nazis

was Hajj Amin al-Husseini, the Mufti of

Jerusalem."
According to the evidence, Husayni was a

prime example of how Muslims and Nazis

worked together.
The documents reveal that al-Husayni met

many times with Adolf Eichmann in the

planning and execution of the Holocaust.

Under tiden Stormuftins tankar var fullt

sysselsatta med mordplaner, fortsatte han

det dagliga arbetet i den tyska propaganda-

apparaten. Han hann också bli utnämnd till

general (SS Gruppenführer) av sin gode vän

Himmler. Haj Amins Arabbyrå hade Europas

sex starkaste kortvågssändare till sitt förfogande.

Varje dag spydde man ut ny hatpropaganda över

hela arabvärlden.

Haj Amin drömde om att mörda mandatets ca

600.000 judar i ett modernt och effektivt

koncentrationsläger, byggt efter de tyska ritningar

han fått av sin gode vän Himmler. Alltihopa övervakat
av pålitliga tyska specialister. En del av desa specialister

kom mycket riktigt till Mellanöstern, men det var efter

1945 och de befann sig på flykt undan rättvisan. Som

specialister på propaganda och judemord var de efter-

frågade i t ex Egypten, Syrien och Saudiarabien....

Under rättegången mot Adolf Eichmann i Israel

kunde åklagaren presentera Stormuftins kalender

för Berlinåren.

Där fanns intressanta noteringar som "Eichmann-

arabernas sanne räddare", "Innan Tripoli evakueras

ska judarnas rensas ut och deras egendom beslagtas"

och "Bomba Tel Aviv, Döda Havsverken, Rutenberg,

Haifa och alla militära installationer där."

Muftins radiotal från Berlin 21 september

1944 visar också på hans nära kontakter

med förintelsemaskineriets innersta krets:

”Ligger det inte i er makt, O araber,

att slå tillbaka judarna som bara

är elva miljoner.”

I all internationell statististik beräknade

man då antalet judar i världen till

sjutton miljoner.

Bara kretsen kring Hitler, Himmler och Eichmann

hade 1944 tillgång till rapporter som visade att

sex miljoner judar redan mördats av

nazisterna…..

But the Grand Mufti al-Husayni's demented
behavior wasn't limited to Europe.
He attempted a chemical warfare assault on
the largest predominantly Jewish city in Israel,
Tel Aviv. Five parachutists were sent with a
toxin to dump into the water system.
The police caught the infiltrators in a cave near
Jericho, and according to the police commander
Fayiz Bey Idrissi, "The laboratory report stated
that each container held enough poison to kill
25,000 people, and there were at least ten
containers.".

av terroristmoskén Taiba i Hamburg:
"The Taiba mosque was the main meeting
point for radical Islamic militants in
Hamburg and had been supporting
the international terrorist network
for years," Manfred Murck, deputy
director of Hamburg's intelligence
service, tells TIME.

"Young Muslim men were drawn to
the mosque — they met there, prayed,
chatted together, became radicalized
and set up extremist groups."
Murck adds that the men came from
different backgrounds, ranging from
Moroccans and German Islam converts
to militants from the former Yugoslavia,
Chechnya and the Middle East.
They all had one thing in common —
their commitment to jihad.
"Some Muslims at the Taiba mosque
had contacts with al-Qaeda," claims
Murck.

Intelligence officials say the mosque
had been under continuous surveillance
since the 9/11 attacks. Back then, the
mosque was known as al-Quds.
Hijackers Mohammed Atta, Marwan
al-Shehhi, Ziad Jarrah and Ramzi
Binalshibh — who according to U.S.
officials was a key 9/11 facilitator
and Atta's roommate — were all
regulars at the prayer house in the
run-up to the 2001 attacks.

In March 2009, the Taiba mosque
again became a location of special
interest to investigators when a
group of 11 Hamburg jihadists,
mostly German men with roots in
the Middle East and the Caucasus,
traveled to Afghanistan and Pakistan
to attend terrorist training camps.

Now that the mosque has been closed,
fears have been raised that members
could regroup and gather in other
mosques in Hamburg. A large harbor
city with a thriving immigrant
community, Hamburg has acted as a
haven for Islamic extremists in the past,
as New York, Washington and
Pennsylvania learned to their horror
nearly 10 years ago.

closed, the challenge for intelligence
agencies now is to prevent new terrorist
cells from forming within their dispersed
ranks.

The variants of Islam that are most
dangerous to us are both modern
and reformed. But neither of those
words means secular, which is what
liberal Christians and liberal Jews
tend to think modern religion means.
Modernized Islam has simply learned
from rival societies, religions and
ideologies.
Just as Mohammed learned from
Christians and Jews to create a
religion that took elements from
both, before massacring and
enslaving the people whose beliefs
he had despoiled.

As a tool of war, a more sophisticated
Islam is a more sophisticated weapon.
Which is not what any sane person
would desire. It is not more tolerant,
because its ends have not changed,
only the means have.
The Islamists have once again taken
what they need from other cultures
and religions to strengthen and
disguise their campaign, without
ever conceding any ground.
Westerners who apply the European
model to the Muslim world are
making an unfortunate mistake.
While they see history as progressive,
Muslims see history as circular.
While in the West they think they
are climbing a mountain, in the
East they know that they are
only turning a wheel.
Westerners have thrown away
their beliefs and their heritage
to lighten their way up the mountain,
but in the East they tie their beliefs
into a noose for Western necks.

Standaard reported that large numbers
of Jews are leaving Antwerp for America,
Britain or Israel.
Antwerp – nicknamed the "Jerusalem of
the North" – is one of the major centers
of Jewish culture in the Low Countries.
"In London, you are not harassed if you
wear a skullcap, but here you are," a
young Antwerp Jew told the paper.

Kleinblatt, a famous Jewish Antwerp
bakery, which has been handed down
from father to son since 1903, will soon
break with that tradition because the
baker's son has emigrated to the U.S.
"We no longer feel safe and welcome
here," a young Jew who is leaving for
London told De Standaard.
"Muslim immigrants blame us for
what is happening in Israel."

Another young Jew, who is leaving
for New York, says: "New York is a
paradise for Jews. Unlike Belgium,
non-Jews in America are pro-Israel."
Ultra-orthodox Jews remain in
Antwerp, but the less orthodox are
leaving in droves.
Even Jacques Wenger, the director
of Shomre Hadas, the Jewish
community center in Antwerp, is
emigrating to Israel.
If the current trend continues,
he predicts, in fifty years' time
there will be no Jews left in Antwerp
except for the ultra-orthodox.

Stormuftin hämtar idéer i Auschwitz

En vacker julidag 1943. Heinrich

Himmler visar stolt upp utrotnings-

lägret Auschwitz -Birkenau för sin

vän Haj Amin al-Husseini, Stor-

muftin av Jerusalem.

Herrarna har precis guidats runt av

lägerkommendanten och sitter nu

och studerar utbyggnadsplanerna.

Originalritningar över utbyggnader

i Auschwitz, signerade av Himmler,

återfanns nyligen i ett förråd i den

byggnad Stormuftin bodde i under sin

Berlintid 1941-44. De finns nu i Yad

Vashem i Jerusalem.

Eichmanns ställföreträdare Dieter

Wisliceny, som var med på visningen,

berättar hur Stormuftin var sjukligt

fascinerad av gaskamrarna och vilka

avrättningsmetoder man använde i

lägret. Han frågade oupphörligt och

antecknade svaren noggrant.

På Haj Amins önskan bjöd Eichmann

in kommendanterna från Auschwitz,

Mauthausen, Belsen och Theresienstadt

till sin sommarstuga.

Där fortsatte muftin utfrågningen av mord-

experterna. Bl a ville han veta allt om läger-

förordningarna och disciplinstraffen.

Eichmann och Wisliceny fick sedan ta med

honom på ytterligare studiebesök i bl a

Mauthausen och Belsen. De väckte visst

uppseende var de kom. En lång arab med

rött skägg och en stor giftgrön turban

smälte knappast in i lägermiljöerna...

Ungern, som dittills varit en relativ fristad

för judar, ockuperades av tyska trupper 19

mars 1944. I arméns spår följde Eichmann

med en insatsgrupp på 200 man. De närmaste

två månaderna deporterades över 430 000

judar från Ungern, den stora majoriteten

direkt till Auschwitz.

Adolf Eichmann var förväntansfull inför sin

stora uppgift och inbjöd sin gode vän muftin

att komma till Budapest och bevittna hur ett

helt folk utrotades. Stormuftin reste omedelbart

dit och kom tillbaka fylld av entusiasm och nya

idéer för sitt hemland...

Nytt antisemitiskt dåd i Frankrike

A new wave of anti-Semitism in France
spread to the city of Marmande, where
vandals desecrated a memorial to Jews
deported by Nazis. The attack follows
two recent attacks on kosher stores
and Jewish graves.

As the rampage continues, French Interior
Minister Brice Hortefeux expressed
“horror and sadness” after the latest
desecration. The mayor of Marmande
pointed the finger at Holocaust deniers
who smeared the words “lies,” “Zionism”,
“interests” and the dollar sign “$” in red
paint on the monument that bears the
names of Nazi concentration camps.

Hortefeux said that the anti-Semites
"clearly targeted the memory of the
deportees and the Jewish community
of France. I am more than ever determined
to fight against all racism and all forms [of]
extremism.”
**
Official statements denouncing the new
wave have not stemmed it. Last week,
the Union of Jewish Students in France
(UEJF) described attacks on kosher stores
as a “new demonstration of anti-Semitic hatred.”
Swastikas had been discovered at a dozen
kosher stores in Paris and on the wall of a
Jewish school and a nearby building.

Three weeks ago, vandals in eastern France
smashed or overturned 27 gravestones at
the Jewish cemetery of Wolfisheim, near
Strasbourg.
More recently, anti-Semitic slogans and
Nazi swastikas were discovered on the
walls of the Etz Chaim synagogue in Melun,
located in central France. In January, some
30 gravestones were vandalized, including
18 painted with swastikas and 13 overturned,
and the German phrase “Juden Raus” (“Jews
out”) was written on one of the tombstones.

Last year’s annual report on anti-Semitism
reported a 75 percent increase over incidents
in 2008.
Part of the increase was attributed to Israel's
Operation Cast Lead campaign against the
Hamas terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, but
demographers have also noted the rapid
increase in the Muslim population in France.
An estimated five to six million Muslims lived
in France in 2003, according to the French
Interior Ministry. The number had climbed
to an estimated eight million, according to
Odile Jacob's Intégrer l'Islam.
In 2008, there were some 490,000 Jews living
in France, according to a survey by Professor
Sergio Della Pergola of the Jewish People
Policy Planning Institute and the Harman
Institute of Contemporary Jewry at Hebrew
University.

weary heart close to her. All I have is

Ground Zero.

On the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 11,

2001, I watched as terrorists slammed

United Flight 175 into the South Tower

of the World Trade Center, 18 minutes

after their accomplices on another

hijacked plane hit the North Tower.

My mother was on the flight. I witnessed

her murder on live television.

I still cannot fully comprehend those images.

In that moment, I died as well. I carry a

hole in my heart that will never be filled.

From the first memorial ceremonies I

attended at Ground Zero, I have always

been moved by the site; it means some-

thing to be close to where my mother

may be buried, it brings some peace.

That is why the prospect of a

mosque near Ground Zero --

or a church or a synagogue or

any religious or nationalistic

monument or symbol -- troubles

me.

I was born in pre-revolutionary Iran.

My family led a largely secular existence --

I did not attend a religious school, I never

wore a headscarf -- but for us, as for

anyone there, Islam was part of our heritage,

our culture, our entire lives.

Though I have nothing but contempt for

the fanaticism that propelled the terrorists

to carry out their murderous attacks on

Sept. 11, I still have great respect for the

faith. Yet, I worry that the construction

of the Cordoba House Islamic cultural

center near the World Trade Center site

would not promote tolerance or understanding;

I fear it would become a symbol of

victory for militant Muslims around

the world.

Tyska polisen stänger jihadistmoské i Hamburg

Den tyska polisen stängde i morse den
s k Al-Taibamoskén på Steindamm 103
nära Hauptbahnhof i centrala Hamburg.
Moskéen var tidigare känd under namnet
Al-Quds och var samlingsplats för ett antal
av islamisterna som genomförde flygkapningarna
11 september 2001. Mohammed Atta var den
ledande i jihadistcellen i Hamburg och rekryterade
där flera frivilliga till attacken. Imam i Al-Quds-
moskén var då marockanen Mohammed El
Fazazi som inspirerade teroristerna och upp-
manade alla rättroende muslimer "to remove
the infidels from power, kill their children,
capture their women and destroy their houses."
El Fazazi avtjänar numera 30 års fängelse i
hemlandet och har avsvurit sig terrorismen...

Författningsskyddet konstaterade förra året att
moskén blivit den viktigaste kontaktpunkten för
jihadister i Tyskland. Tongivande har varit syriern
Rami Mackenzie, som organiserade en grupp
på ett dussin jihadister som for iväg till IJU:s
talibanskola i Pakistan. Mackenzie greps av
pakistanska polisen i sommar utklädd i burqa.
Han lär då ha erkänt sitt samarbete med Al Qaeda.

Det finns klara kopplingar mellan kretsen kring
Al-Taiba och Sauerlandgruppen, som nu fått sina
domar för terrorism. Eric Breininger från Sauerland-
gruppen som dog i eldstrid med pakistanska polisen i
maj vördas nu som martyr i nätverket av jihadistiska
moskéer.

A suspected German al-Qaeda operative,

arrested in Pakistan on Tuesday, told

investigators that dozens of Europeans

recruited by the terror outfit were fighting

in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Reports quoting intelligence officials questioning

Rami Mackenzie said that he had met

militants from Germany, Spain, Sweden and

Norway on both sides of the Pak-Afghan border.

They were either receiving training at militant

hide-outs in Pakistan or fighting the NATO-led

International Security Assistance Force (ISAF)

troops in Afghanistan.

The report, sent to the government’s Office

for Security and Counter Terrorism (OSCT),

was not intended for publication but has now

been leaked on the internet.

Entitled "Preventing terrorism, where next

for Britain?" it says the ideology of non-

violent Islamists is “broadly the same as

that of violent Islamists” adding “they

disagree only on tactics.”

The list sent to the OSCT includes a unit

within Scotland Yard called the Muslim

Contact Unit and another independent

group designed to improve the relationship

between the police and the Muslim

community called the Muslim Safety Forum.

It also includes the Muslim Council of Britain,

one of the main groups representing Muslims

in Britain, and its rival the Muslim Association

of Britain.

Other groups on the list are the Islamic Human

Rights Commission, the Federation of Student

Islamic Societies and the Cordoba Foundation.

Quilliam also singles out the Islam Channel,

a satellite TV channel which has been the

subject of one of their reports.

Among the mosques identified are Finsbury Park

mosque in North London, formerly run by the

extremist preacher Abu Hamza but now under

new management, along with East London

Mosque and Birmingham Central mosque.

Politicians described as "Islamist backed" include

Salma Yaqoob, leader of the Respect Party, and

the former Respect MP George Galloway.

The Swedish Security Service (SAPO), which has responsibility for counterterrorism, distinguished between attack and activity threats in its terrorism assessment. Attack threats, which included plans to carry out attacks in Sweden and/or against Swedish interests abroad, remained low. SAPO noted, however, an increased activity threat from individuals who were planning, supporting, or financing terrorist attacks in areas of conflict. A number of individuals with connections to radical and violent networks, primarily al-Qa’ida (AQ) and al-Shabaab, continued to depart Sweden for training camps in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and Iraq. According to estimates, the number of persons who seek ideological education, weapons training, or other activity in training camps abroad is likely to increase, and these individuals have the potential to speed up radicalization in Sweden. SAPO is responsible for trying to prevent such trips, but existing legislation leaves few possibilities to stop determined individuals from leaving Sweden. SAPO, therefore, continued to work to identify individuals planning to travel to training camps and held dialogues with them to try to prevent their travel, and it also spoke with persons who were suspected of returning from such travel. At least 20 Swedes were estimated to be active in camps around the world. Somalia continued to be the destination that attracted most individuals, and SAPO confirmed that it was aware of a hand-full of casualties involving ethnic Somali Swedish citizens fighting in East Africa.

In July, Xasaan Xussen, a spiritual leader for the Somali terrorist organization al-Shabaab, spoke at a conference in the Bellevue Mosque in Gothenburg. Xuseen’s visit was controversial because of a widespread concern that he came to Sweden to recruit young people and collect money for al-Shabaab. On July 15, the Somali Minister of Justice Abdirahman Janaqoo visited Sweden to discuss how to prevent young Somali-Swedes from traveling to Somalia and fight against the government. Together with two Somali parliamentarians, Minister Janaqoo met with representatives from the Swedish government to discuss radicalization of Somali-Swedes. In November, the media reported that a Swedish-Somali youth leader had used a youth center in one of Stockholm’s suburbs as a base for al-Shabaab recruitment.

Swedish authorities monitored individuals with connections to AQ, al-Shabaab, Ansar al-Islam, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, Hizb Al-Tahrir, Hizballah, Islamic Jihad, and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). According to Swedish terrorism experts, members of terrorist groups, such as Ansar al-Islam, and Hizballah, used funds earned in Sweden to finance terrorist activities elsewhere. The al-Aqsa Foundation in Malmo was shut down in 2007 when it was suspected of financing HAMAS. Its chairman, Khaled al-Yousef, went on trial for terrorist financing and violating international sanctions, though he was acquitted in November after the case had been reviewed in two different courts.

Swedish law does not provide the government with independent national authority to freeze or seize assets, unless in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation. However, once the EU takes action, the government can and does freeze assets of entities and persons listed on the UN 1267 Sanctions Committee list. This procedure is managed through the Sanctions Act (1995). On October 26, the Swedish branch of the Somali bank network Al-Barakaat was delisted from the UN’s sanctions list. The Swedish branch of the organization was first designated in 2001 and about US$ 142,857 of frozen assets will now become accessible. Sweden can also take action against entities designated by the EU clearinghouse process, although Sweden has not yet proposed individuals or entities for inclusion on such lists.

On March 15, a new law on money laundering and terrorist finance came into effect that covers a broader range of entities and requires companies to have better knowledge about customer transactions. Suspicious transactions have to be reported to the Financial Police for further investigation. A special unit at the Financial Supervisory Authority, which supervises and monitors companies operating on the financial market, has been established to oversee implementation of the new legislation.

In late 2008, the Swedish Parliament approved the new EU directive on counterterrorism, which was intended to harmonize the EU Member States’ domestic laws and to criminalize public exhortation to terrorist crimes, recruitment and training for terrorism purposes, including actions performed over the Internet. In order for Sweden to comply with the directive, changes in the current legislation and a new law have been drafted. On December 21, the government introduced its proposed bill for action by the Parliament for voting.

Between July 2008 and June 2009, Sweden applied its Special Alien’s Control Act once. The act was established in 1991 to prevent presumptive terrorists from entering or residing in Sweden but also permits for control of individuals, who due to asylum reasons still have to be granted a stay in Sweden. In this particular case, the government decided to deport the person from Sweden.

While there were no convictions for terrorism in Sweden during the reporting period, the following cases should be mentioned:

• In April, a 32 year-old Swedish citizen of Somali origin was arrested in the United Kingdom, where he currently faces allegations for terrorist financing in Somalia.
• In July, Swedish citizen Misrad Bektasevic, who was convicted on terrorism charges in Bosnia in 2005, was transferred from Bosnia to Sweden, where he will serve the remainder of his prison sentence. Bektasevic was arrested by Bosnian Security Police in Sarajevo, when he was found in an apartment with explosives, weapons, and suicide bomb belts in 2005. A video with masked persons threatening to attack forces in Iraq and Afghanistan was found and a voice analysis proved that Bektasevic was one of the individuals in the video. In 2007, he was sentenced to eight years and four months imprisonment for terrorism-related crimes.

During Sweden’s EU Presidency in the latter half of the year, Sweden arranged a conference on prison radicalization and prevention; a seminar on enabling local police officers to detect and prevent radicalization; chaired the Working Party meeting on Terrorism and Terrorist Financing between the EU and the United States; and led EU efforts for negotiating the interim Terrorist Financing Tracking Program Agreement between the EU and the United States. Sweden also drafted and negotiated the EU’s new five-year program within Justice and Home Affairs, which involves counterterrorism and law enforcement cooperation. Sweden continued to contribute to counterterrorism capacity-building projects in third countries.

In November, the Swedish Parliament voted to extend the mandate for its troop contribution to the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan for another 12 months. Troop numbers are expected to remain at 500 and Sweden will continue its engagement in northern Afghanistan.

Från jihadist i Bosnien till Ship to Hamas

En turkisk islamist från IHH har

avslöjats av bosniska säkerhets-

tjänsten som en tidigare jihadist

i Bosnien.

De internationella jihadister som

anmälde sig som frivilliga i Bosnien

under befrielsekriget har blivit ett

stort problem för landet. Många av

dem vägrar att återvända hem och

några har köpt bosniska medborgarskap

av korrupta tjänstemän under kriget.

import som man försöker tvinga på bosnier,

A senior official with the Turkish activist

group IHH who participated in the Gaza-

bound flotilla boarded by the Israeli army

last month served as a foreign fighter

during the civil war in Bosnia.

Osman Atalay, a senior official with IHH,

was on board the ship "Mavi Marmara,"

part of the controversial aid convoy to Gaza,

which was boarded by Israeli commandos

on May 31, according to published reports.

The initials IHH stand for the The Foundation

for Human Rights and Freedoms and

Humanitarian Relief in Turkish.

The charity was created the mid-1990s,

according to published reports, for the purpose

of assisting Bosnian Muslims caught up in the

three-way civil war between Muslims, Croats

and Serbs in the former Yugoslavia.

The war lasted from 1992 to 1995, leaving over

100,000 dead. Several purported charities

created to provide humanitarian assistance

to Bosnian Muslims during the war were,

in reality, funneling weapons and mujahideen

fighters into the country, according to documents

obtained during the making of the documentary

"Sarajevo Ricochet", which debuts at the Kortfilm-

festivalen (Short Film Festival) in Oslo, Norway,

later this month. Jihadist fighters frequently

posed as employees of the charities in order to

secure travel papers. Some mujahideen fighters

were incorporated into the regular Bosnian army.

A relatively small number of foreign volunteers

bypassed the mujahideen and enlisted in the

army directly.

Some IHH employees served as volunteer

fighters with the Bosnian army, stationed

in the town of Zenica, near the Bosnian capital

of Sarajevo, according to a Bosnian intelligence

document obtained during research on the

documentary.

The report by the Sarajevo Sector of the Bosnian

National Security Service is dated November 19,

1995, and titled "Citizens, Organizations and

Institutions from Afro-Asian Countries Who

Reside and Operate in Our Area - A Sample of

What We Have Learned and a Suggestion for

Measures to be Taken."

Atalay was enlisted as a soldier of the Bosnian

Army from 1992 to 1994, according to the

document. After serving in the war, the

document states, Atalay became head of the

IHH office in Sarajevo.

A CIA report from the mid-1990s, obtained

for the documentary, claims a director of

IHH in Sarajevo was linked to Iranian

government operatives, but does not

name the person in question

I en recension på ledarsidan i SvD skrev
Per Gudmundson igår:
Tossavainen identifierar tre av Reepalus
tankefigurer – att jämställa sionism med
antisemitism, att göra judar kollektivt
ansvariga för Israels handlingar, samt
att antyda att en israelisk lobby styr
medierna – som klart förankrade i en
antisemitisk tradition.

Vidare menar Tossavainen att denna
tradition förvaltas av en vänster som
i sitt motstånd mot Israels politik inte
förmår göra upp med det unkna tanke-
godset.
Ju längre ut till vänster, desto värre är
det, men liknande argumentation smyger
sig inte sällan in i den bredare vänstern.
Detta betyder dock inte att Reepalu är
antisemit, ett uttryck man ska vara
försiktig med för att inte urholka dess
betydelse.

”Det är inte avsikten här att påstå att
Ilmar Reepalu anser att judar är illojala
mot Sverige eller att det finns en judisk
konspiration med syfte att ta över världen.
Hans uttalanden kan dock tydligt länkas
till dessa tankefigurer, eftersom de är en
del av samma underströmmar av tro och
myt som omger judar.
Med andra ord, Ilmar Reepalu är måhända
inte antisemit, men han använde sig helt
klart av antisemitiskt språk”, skriver
Tossavainen.
Risken med det språket är att man kan råka
bereda väg för utstuderat antisemitiska
handlingar. Som sprängladdningar utanför
synagogan.

Aisha is a victim of Taliban brutality, her
nose and ears barbarically hacked off by
her own husband in a warped punishment
for attempting to flee her cruel in-laws.

Held down by her brother-in-law, the young
bride endured the agony of the man she
married disfiguring her face with a knife.
Aisha's striking image stares out from the
cover of U.S. news magazine Time.
The photograph is a stark reminder of
the fate awaiting independent-minded
women if the Taliban regain power.

The magazine is running the front page,
with the headline What Happens if We
Leave Afghanistan, as coalition countries
set a timetable for the withdrawal of
international forces from the country.
Influential voices in Afghanistan are suggesting
that the West must bring the Taliban to the
negotiating table to thrash out a peace deal
as part of the exit strategy.
But women - who were treated as little
more than slaves under the hardline
regime's rule - believe they will bear
the brunt of any reconciliation.
Touching her face, Aisha told the magazine:
'They are the people who did this to me.
How can we reconcile with them?'
Her concerns were echoed by Fawzia Koofi,
a female member of the Afghan parliament,
who said: 'Women's rights must not be the
sacrifice by which peace is achieved.'
Aisha now lives in a secret women's shelter
in Kabul, but she dreams of leaving the
Afghan capital and flying to the U.S. for
reconstructive surgery paid for by a
humanitarian organisation.
