Turkiska islamister finansierar Al Qaeda ?

Ledaren för turkiska IHH, Bülent Yilidirim,

har gripits som misstänkt för finansiering

av Al Qaeda. En specialåklagen leder för-

undersökningen. Yilidirim ledde den våld-

samma konvonjen mot Gaza 2010.

The leader of Turkey’s IHH, which organized the 2010

Gaza-bound flotilla, is being investigated on suspicion

of funding al-Qaida through the organization, Turkish

media reported on Friday.

According to the reports, Bulent Yilidirim, the leader of

the Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and

Humanitarian Relief, known by its Turkish acronym

IHH, was investigated by a specially appointed pro-

secutor under the suspicion that the organization is

being used to channel funds to al-Qaida.

Yilidirim, who was on board the Gaza-bound

Mavi  Marmara ship, is accused of "providing

financial aid  to al-Qaida via his foundation,"

the daily Hurriyet reported.

The reports did not mention the source of the funds

or the al-Qaida cell which was financed.

Yilidirim was among the organizers of the flotilla in

June 2010, aiming to break the Gaza blockade, which

was intercepted by the Israel Defense Forces and resul-

ted in the death of nine Turkish nationals and ten

wounded Israeli commando soldiers.

A few days following the incident, a video of Yilidirim

speaking on board the Mavi Marmara was made public

by Israel's Foreign Ministry. Yilidirim is filmed addres-

sing activists, saying in Turkish:

 "If they (Israeli army) board our ship, we will

throw them into the sea, Allah willing!"

Turkish IHH leader, Bulent Yildirim, who played

a key role in the last Flotilla to Gaza, gave an

interview to the Islamic Turkish newspaper 'Star',

which is closely associated to the Turkish authorities.

The interview focused on the events that surrounded

the 'Marmara' boat and the developments that

followed.

The interview had two parts:

In the interview's first part, Bulent Yildirim

referred at length to the proposal of the

American Congress to announce that the

IHH is a terrorist organization.

He again and again used an anti Semitic

motive, claiming that the 'Zionists' (the

term that is now used instead of 'Jews')

control the United States, including

the president, the Congress, the govern-

ment and the media. He also claimed that

'Zionism' controls the medicine, weapon

and media industries all over the world.

In the second part of the interview,

Yildirim referred to the 'Marmara'

events.

He repeatedly accused Israel of intentionally

'massacring' innocent passengers who,

according to him, didn't carry any weapons.

He also defended the aid given by the IHH to

the Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and he threatened

that IHH will not leave Israel alone until it

removes its blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Yildirim brought up the false claim that Israel

had carried out the 'massacre' on the 'Marmara'

in order to signal to Turkey that it is the real owner

of the Mediterranean oil and gas capital (according

to Yildirim, the location of the 'Marmara' attack is

the exact place in which Israel wants to produce

underwater gas). He also came up with a grotesque

argument that Israel planned to attack Gaza and

Lebanon and carry out a massacre there, and only

the humanitarian aid organizations who organized

the flotilla took measures to prevent that.

Turkiska IHH är en av många islamistiska

stiftelser som opererar på Balkan.

Det mesta, både vad gäller pengar och

propagandamaterial, kommer från Saudi-

arabien.

Därför kallar de flesta på Balkan islamister

för wahhabister. De ser dem som en utländsk

import som man försöker tvinga på bosnier,

makedonier och albaner.

En främmande importvara, som de absolut

A senior official with the Turkish activist

group IHH who participated in the Gaza-

bound flotilla boarded by the Israeli army

last month served as a foreign fighter

during the civil war in Bosnia.

Osman Atalay, a senior official with IHH,

was on board the ship "Mavi Marmara,"

part of the controversial aid convoy to Gaza,

which was boarded by Israeli commandos

on May 31, according to published reports.

The initials IHH stand for the The Foundation

for Human Rights and Freedoms and

Humanitarian Relief in Turkish.

The charity was created the mid-1990s,

according to published reports, for the purpose

of assisting Bosnian Muslims caught up in the

three-way civil war between Muslims, Croats

and Serbs in the former Yugoslavia.

The war lasted from 1992 to 1995, leaving over

100,000 dead. Several purported charities

created to provide humanitarian assistance

to Bosnian Muslims during the war were,

in reality, funneling weapons and mujahideen

fighters into the country, according to documents

obtained during the making of the documentary

"Sarajevo Ricochet", which debuts at the Kortfilm-

festivalen (Short Film Festival) in Oslo, Norway,

later this month. Jihadist fighters frequently

posed as employees of the charities in order to

secure travel papers. Some mujahideen fighters

were incorporated into the regular Bosnian army.

A relatively small number of foreign volunteers

bypassed the mujahideen and enlisted in the

army directly.

Some IHH employees served as volunteer

fighters with the Bosnian army, stationed

in the town of Zenica, near the Bosnian capital

of Sarajevo, according to a Bosnian intelligence

document obtained during research on the

documentary.

The report by the Sarajevo Sector of the Bosnian

National Security Service is dated November 19,

1995, and titled "Citizens, Organizations and

Institutions from Afro-Asian Countries Who

Reside and Operate in Our Area - A Sample of

What We Have Learned and a Suggestion for

Measures to be Taken."

Atalay was enlisted as a soldier of the Bosnian

Army from 1992 to 1994, according to the

document. After serving in the war, the

document states, Atalay became head of the

IHH office in Sarajevo.

A CIA report from the mid-1990s, obtained

for the documentary, claims a director of

IHH in Sarajevo was linked to Iranian

government operatives, but does not

name the person in question
