Norsk antisemit utesluts ur internationell fredsorganisation

Den gamle norske kommunisten och

antisemiten Johan Galtung har

uteslutits ur den prestigefyllda

World Peace Academy.

Beslutet motiverades med hans allt

grövre antisemitiska uttalanden.

Enligt akademien har Galtung gjort 

"reckless and offensive statements to questions

that are specifically sensitive for Jews."

Dr Manfred Gerstenfeld, framstående

expert på norsk antisemitism

kommenterade uteslutningen:

"Orwell wrote in 1942 that pacifism was

objectively pro-fascist, because of its

hampering the war efforts of the allies.

The 'peace scholar' Galtung uses a different

method to help Israel's totalitarian and

murderous enemies.

Without any proof he associates the Mossad

to the Norwegian mass murderer Breivik,

he falsely suggests that The Protocols of the

Elders of Zion are genuine and so on.

His attitude fits that of significant parts of

the Norwegian cultural elite.

Galtung has merited his place in text-

books of 21st century anti-Semitism."

The Humanist magazine printed Galtung's

remarks. Galtung wrote in one of the ex-

changes that Jews control the American

media.

"Six Jewish companies control 96% of the

 media," he wrote, including the names of

journalists, publishers, TV networks and

movie studios that he claims are controlled

by Jews.

He also wrote that "70% of the

professors at the 20 most-important

American universities are Jewish."

Galtung recommended that people read

the anti-Semitic screed The Protocols of

the Elders of Zion and said, "It is impossible

 to do so today without thinking of Goldman

Sachs," the international investment bank.

38 % antisemiter i Norge !

En ny undersökning om antisemitismens

utbredning i Norge har gett så chockerande

resultat att regeringen Stoltenberg febrilt

arbetar med "damage control".

Undersökningen är utförd av Holocaust-

centret i Oslo på statligt uppdrag.

Utredaren betecknar resultaten som

"riktigt skrämmande".

Mest upprörande: 38 % av norrmännen

drar direkta paralleller mellan Israel och

Nazi-Tyskland.....

19 % tror att det finns en världsjudisk

konspiration för främja judiska intressen.

25 % tycker att "judar pratar för mycket

om Förintelsen."

12,5 % av norrmännen har omfattande

fördomar mot judar. Detta är särskilt

utbrett bland äldre, lågutbildade män.

8 % skulle inte kunna tänka sig en

judisk vän eller granne.

Undersökningen undviker dessvärre

den idag centrala frågan om den

muslimska antisemitismen....

"– Det er dessverre slik at mange jødiske barn
forteller at de blir utsatt for hetsing fra muslimske
skoleungdommer i forbindelse med situasjonen
i Midt-Østen. Vi har også hatt store demonstrasjoner
 mot den israelske ambassaden hvor parolene
i stor grad har gått på jødene, og ikke på den
israelske regjeringen."

In recent years the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs has published several articles about the Nordic countries, Jews, and Israel in both the Jewish Political Studies Review and Post-Holocaust and Anti-Semitism.
Gradually a picture has emerged of these countries that differs greatly from the often superficial friendliness the visiting tourist experiences, or the impressions one gains abroad from the few usually positive articles in international media. Little is known about the multiple negative events in the Nordic countries regarding Israel and the Jews.

The Jerusalem Center’s collaboration with the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies has made it possible to group and update in this volume several earlier articles and interviews and to complement them with additional essays. This volume aims to provide a more strategic picture of the Nordic countries’ attitudes toward Israel and the Jews than is available elsewhere in English.
Our research clarifies that in recent years part of the societal elites, particularly in Sweden and Norway, have been responsible for many pioneering efforts to demonize Israel. Prominent among the perpetrators are leading socialist and other leftist politicians, journalists, clergy, and employees of NGOs. This demonization is based on the classic motifs of anti-Semitism, which often also accompany its new mutation of anti-Israelism.

Behind the Nordic countries’ righteous appearance and oft-proclaimed concern for human rights often lurk darker attitudes. This volume’s main purpose is to lift their humanitarian mask as far as Israel and Jews are concerned. This disguise hides many ugly characteristics, including the financing of demonizers of Israel, a false morality, invented moral superiority, and “humanitarian racism.”

The academic year 2007-2008 saw ongoing anti-

Israeli and anti-Semitic incidents in various countries.

Among them is Israel Apartheid Week, which has

become an annual ritual in a number of cities on

several continents. So have the calls of the University

and College Union (UCU) in the United Kingdom for

discriminatory measures against Israeli universities

and academics. In several universities, such as on

some campuses of the University of California, anti-

Israelism is endemic.
Much of the visible anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism

occurs in the academic world of Britain, Canada,

and the United States. There are problems in many

other countries as well. The situation is obfuscated

by limited media attention.

Effective counteractions are also increasing.

There is now more exposure of Islamist racism

and anti-Semitism on American campuses.

In Canada protests against anti-Israeli actions

are on the rise. There are also European and

British initiatives to enhance academic colla-

boration with Israeli universities. External

monitoring bodies are more and more exposing

the hate culture and biased actions of some

university lecturers.

The onslaught against Israel and Jews is not

an isolated phenomenon. What happens to

Jews has usually been a pointer to their

societal environment and a sensor of events

to come. This is also the case regarding

academic anti-Israelism. Academic freedom

has been abused so much that in its present

form it has outlived part of its academic and

societal usefulness for fostering knowledge.
