En libanesisk terrorist greps idag vid
middagstid i Bangkok. Mannen tillhör
terrorgruppen Hizballah. Han var på
väg att genomföra en terrorattack
mot utländska turister i landet.
Både USA och Israel hade gått ut
med varningar till sina turistande
medborgare om att risken för ett
terrordåd just nu är överhängande
i Thailand.

Thai authorities have arrested a Lebanese
man with suspected links to Hezbollah militants.
The arrest comes hours after the US advised
its citizens in the Thai capital, Bangkok, to be
on the alert over a possible terrorist threat.
Thai officials said they had been warned by
Israel late last year of a possible Lebanese-
based plot.
Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung
said one of those men was now in custody
in Bangkok.
"I want to assure people that there is nothing
to worry about. The police will take care of
the situation and everything will be under
control," he told AFP news agency.
"Following concern raised by the Israeli
embassy about a possible attack by a
group of Lebanese terrorists in Bangkok,
Thai police officials had been coordinating
with Israeli officials since before the New
Year," Reuters news agency quoted him
as saying.

Bulgariska säkerhetstjänsten stoppade i
veckan en grupp terrorister från Hizballah
som skulle spränga en busslast israeliska
turister.
I samband med detta utfärdades en
terrorvarning för många turistmål.
Hizballah planerar att "högtidlighålla"
fyraårsminnet av terrorledaren Imad
Mughniyehs död i februari med ett antal
spektakulära dåd.
